The new facility in the Wichita area is equipped with two induction centrifugal casting lines and a metallurgical laboratory.

Reiloy USA completed a new 60,000 square foot barrel manufacturing facility, which includes two new production lines and an advanced metallurgical laboratory for testing bimetal barrels/components in Wichita/Metz, Kansas.

The two induction centrifugal casting lines will process 90% of the product portfolio that Reiloy sells from its Wichita plant. The company said the plant is equipped with the latest casting, drilling, honing and milling technologies.

The casting process and alloy powder technology are proprietary and developed by Reifenhauser, the parent company of Troisdorf, Germany. They are used to make linings that are spun into electrically heated barrel blanks. Through this process, Reiloy can manufacture standard and high-quality tungsten carbide barrel blanks, which are one of the most abrasion-resistant barrel linings on the market.

The new casting line will enable Reiloy USA to create more timely stocks of billets and barrels mainly used in the injection and extrusion markets. Reiloy said the additional manufacturing capacity should help provide customers with market supply and delivery time.

Reiloy USA was established after Reifenhauser acquired Westland Corp. in 2012.
